Magick Monsters & Flying Colors EP xxx

It's been more than half a year since LA based DJ/Producer Sinjun's first artist EP release on Bugeyed Records. Much too long we say! The title track 'Steel Rising' lived up to it's name and rose all the way to #40 on Beatport's electro house top 100. Not bad for a first shot.  This trip around Sinjun returns with his second artist EP titled Magick Monsters & Flying Colors.  Yes, magick is not normally spelled with a K. But, this isn't a normal situation.The spelling is correct. Magick - with a K -represent's  the alchemical and occult magick - not the Vegas-style pull-a-rabbit out of a hat kind. Sinjun's magickal inspirations can be SEEn and HEARd throughout.

  Magick Monsters & Flying Colors follows 3 magick monsters on a journey from creation to death and then onto the astral planes in a gamma burst of flying colors. Electro house patchwork baselines dominate the vibe with 80's synths and melody flying through the air. As in the universe - life unfolds in many ways..

  The tracks vary from progressive bombers to monstrous electro and even a dubstep chugger.  Concepticon opens from the infinite potential of a basic house beat smoothly introducing synth layers that ramp up into a massive drop. If you can dodge the laser sounds in Chicera you might hear a common thread of goa and psy sounds throughout the whole EP. Does Die really mean death? Or change and growth? - Hear Dieosaur's thunderous growls as it tells you the answer. Finally, the ep concludes with Flying Colors and it's a successful time travel trip that bends time and space turning the 80s into the present with it's warped power chord inspired patchwork baselines and arena-size synths flying overhead.

  With this release he once again joins BugEyed Records power player roster which includes Lucky Date, Digital Freq, Dirtyloud, Zedd, Felguk, Deadmau5 and JELO.

  Magick Monsters & Flying Colors will be released exclusively at Beatport on Bugeyed Records on November 21st, 2011. And then in January 2012 will hit iTunes and the rest of our solar system. Hey Storm Chasers and Burners!

For the second edition of our residency at RESET LA - Storm will be hosting a Burning Man DECOMPRESSION party. We know we enjoyed our stay at Burning Man and we definitely are already missing the unforgettable experience we had. If you are in need of a place to reminisce and share stories of BM or just hear some wicked house music and have a good time... you definitely should drop by RESET LA this... Sunday.

Not only will we be rocking our Burning Man attire but we will also be dropping sets that channel all of the inspiration we attained from Burning Man.

We hope to see all of you whether you are in Burning Man attire, dressed to impress, or just rocking comfy pants and are ready to dance. We can't wait!

Storm will be opening up from 5pm - 7:30pm for our good friend Randy Seidman and then after that we will be rocking out with the main slot from 10:30pm to Midnight after Justin Paul on the main patio! Don't miss our fellow burner and extremely badass DJ Josh Allen who will be holding it down inside from 10pm - 12am

STORM DJS INCLUDE: Zan, Sinjun, Skitch, Ray Mack and Alana Star

The club opens at 5pm and closes at 12am.

I'm a big fan of Sublime and really have always loved their song Doin Time, which was actually a remake of an old jazz tune by Bill Evans called Summertime. I always feel like I'm staring into a deep blue sunny summer sky when I hear it and I wanted to keep that vibe for the remix.

Pyramid Skies III (Orbit)

 Sinjun returns with his latest mix compilation Pyramid Skies III.  We're past the atmosphere and circling the planet's orbit, now our sight is beckoned beyond the curved horizon and we are granted the view of the molten sun rising above earth's galactic background.

This Mix features tracks from his latest EP 'Steel Rising' on BugEyed Records - which charted in Beatports Electro House Top 100, a ripe unreleased tune, and also includes his custom DJ intro for Storm's DJ sets.

Steel Rising is the first full EP from Los Angeles based DJ and producer Sinjun and comes out March 23rd on BugEyed Records. He DJ's with Storm, an upcoming crew of DJ's and producers that have come from virtually nowhere to playing some of the biggest dance music events in LA. Their success has been due to focusing on great music and great people. As far as productions go, Sinjun has actually dropped a fresh new track at virtually every Storm gig in the last year. 

With this release he joins BugEyed Records famous roster which includes Cold Blank, Dirtyloud, Zedd, Felguk, Deadmau5 and JELO. 

"Get in the factory is a term coined with fellow Storm DJ - Skitch. The factory is the dancefloor - you get in, you grind, no stopping, no breaks! When you say 'get in the factory' it means get down and dirty! Steel Rising was named by my brother, Matt Wesson, a singer/songwriter, who was visiting over New Years. We were trying to put the right words to the distorted, groovy, industrial sounds on this EP."

"At the moment, I'm gearing up for our Storm parties at the Standard this summer. I want to create something special and unforgettable. Custom intros and bootlegs are on the menu for sure. I've also recently put out a teaser for 'Loompa' - a Umek/Jay Lumen inspired tech-house remix of the original oompa loompa song done by myself and Ray Mack."

"Coming up in the next few months, I have a long awaited EP due out on an underground european label and I will also be releasing another bootleg of the Macarena (listen here for the 1st remixes) - this time it's a collaboration with Ray Mack. We grew up when Macarena was huge and we know it's cheesy as hell but that actually made us look at it as a challenge to remix it, so far the crowds have been licking it up."

A lover of triangles, Sinjun claims to be an alien from the far past and the distant future. Could this be music from another planet? Another time? We'll leave it up to you, but no matter what you do keep an eye out for this new artist.
